Question for Jason only to answer... Wouldn't the cargo door not closing be a side effect of the c pillar YOU replaced?
I'm not looking to pick on anyone, just tring to gather how and which pieces effect the others.

after the short side panel was on and the new lower c pillar was attached the door didnt close properly. the cargo door rocker had been installed too high and had to be removed. the previous shop probably never checked this prior to making the lower rockers a solid unit

No, because we did not change the position of the upper hinge. Only the lower (beltline down) was replaced. Also it wasnt the door that was off it was the rocker was put on too high. _________________ Jason Stratton 407 497 9944

Kinda looks like there's a huge dent in the cargo rocker. _________________ -Corey

Here is how the bus is sitting currently. the drivers semaphore piece needs to be attached. We are waiting on 1 more piece then we can pull and attach the final corner on the drivers side. after that all of the replacement metal will be on this beast then it's off to the blasters.

I think once it's blasted you won't be able to tell what was replaced they should Clearcoat it and take it to shows so people can see true craftsmanship looks like...this deluxe is on its way to becoming a beautiful bus ...it just took a longer road and then it should've to get there.. _________________ (20-024785)Ambulance (20-037784)truck (20-035850)panel

Wow, that's alot of replaced metal. What is original on it? 5-6%?
That much replaced metal means there had to have been some flexing at some point so that cargo door being off 1/2" is not a big surprise.
Seems like it would've been easier just to build a 'Gerson Special', tack on the BD plate, and have left the Pinky the way it was. It was a cool bus with it's own character and history. _________________ "There is only one sin; disconnection from self." |

Thanks.
Yes he is sending us all of the metal for our builds oil covered similar to the way he sends the noses to customers all over the world. The spot welder wont go through his green. _________________ Jason Stratton 407 497 9944

I think the owner of a certain bus can do with it as he pleases. Your opinion of how he spends his own money shouldn't matter here. _________________ Jason Stratton 407 497 9944

Jason,
you still need to smooth out those drip nipples on the long side panel as well as the nipple on the short side rocker.
The only drip nipples a Barndoor should have are three on the cargo door rockers, excluding 1950
Great looking job so far but don't skip that detail that many ignore. _________________ ----VW's in my garage----

So you admit it's not perfect
I'm just bugging you, I know you take a good ribbing. Your products are a good second choice for quality, but first place in terms of selection. Without you, this bus couldn't be rebodied as a Barndoor. _________________ "There is only one sin; disconnection from self." |

This must be the most clamps used on a single panel ever!

'seem'? I guess I'll have to try harder.
Just returning the shots fired earlier in this thread. That long panel wasn't finished and the rest of the bus was hacked to pieces before 'the other shop' got it. _________________ "There is only one sin; disconnection from self." |

Can we see a recent picture of the long and short sides with the bar on the panel to show how straight it is now? _________________ It all works on paper.
