When my van was painted , all the windows were out. I rebuilt the sliders and had them tinted. Here is the guide I used to take them apart.

Start looking for all the replacement rubber.

I tried the method shown in the vid, with a spare slider window I have. It didn't go as easily as shown. The glass was sealed to the aluminum channel with what looked like silicone caulk. I'm sure that was factory applied. Anyway, the aluminum and glass did not come apart easily at all. In the end I spread the window frame enough to get the slider and channel out as a unit and then removed the channel from the glass. Even then the glass did not come out of the channel without a bit of a fight.

I'll echo the above comment. It will definitely not come out as easily as shown in that video. I've done 6 now and they are all caulked from the factory and put together pretty snug.

Center the window, spread the frame apart with some spreader clamps, and take the bottom edge of the glass out by moving the top edge up and into the corner.

Caulked seams around the fixed portion of the window can be separated by hand without too much trouble.

The strip along the bottom of the sliding portion of the window can be a real bugger. I separated it with a couple chopsticks that I tapped in carefully from the end so as not to bend it.

I just finished getting mine tinted, I didn't remove the fixed pane, just the sliding pane and put in new brush "seals" and new window seal at the same time...

To pull the sliding pane I was able to spread the frame by hand, came out reasonably easy.

Installing the window back in the van was by far the hardest part. Tint guy gave me a break for having the glass out of the van, so make sure you ask.

Good luck!
