I've wondered when those panel adhesives would start being used to secure panels on our buses vs. spot/plug welds. I read somewhere the adhesive is just as strong, if not stronger. It sure seems like it would be a huge time saver when putting panels on.

I've used 2 part panel adhesvies on other cars and they are great. I think an ideal use would be to put belly pans on Sambas or 215's or sunroofs or similar bay windows with belly pans. Just attach with glue and some self tap screw to clamp. The cool thing about this is the pan would be rather easily removed if you needed to service something under it, like brake lines or wires. Just hit with some heat and it will release. The lack of welds might lose a few points, but for a driver it makes sense.

Thanks! I be sure!

Today i take the time and finally fitted and welded the left dogleg into place, what a great feeling!
Much work that it fit.
Don't afraid, i grind the welds later...

Thank you for the flowers!

I want to make the left front floor fit, but there are to much "new pressinhs" in the Autocraft part (they say 55-76) for me it looks like ~59-67 so i ordered a klasik fab part (55-59) that looks better in the pictures.

Years ago when i ordered this part i don't care about such little details, but now i can't weld this wrong part in my car

I hope it come quick from vwsplitparts that i can put the thing on the side and finish the bottom of the Single cab.

I guess you will have to change those hex socket door hinge screws to the correct cross point since your floor stamping is correct now.. Laughing

Yes of course! They are only for testing!
I like it how you see the details!

The new panel is now welded in the right place, some more grinding to do...

Yes, but i have no time in the moment, the 57sc and the new 53 Barndoor need all the spare time in the moment.

I finally grinded the front floor part and starting all the rest of the little works on the underground,

Much little weldings to do on the floor.

Anyone have a picture of the exact position of this little holder for the pipes near the transmission?

You could cheat and move it a little more to the left of stock location. The clutch cable won't mind because it is in the bowden tube with a bend anyway. This will keep the throttle cable from having to bend around the transaxle.

Thanks!

Yes it is the rear latch, but mine looks older.
I marked the position from the end of the floor to the front, but i forgot the left right position.
I only see it was welded on the sills like i show in the picture.
I do a search but i can't find a picture of this part in a stock bus...
