Excellent work Huetti - I've been silently following this build since it was 3 pages old or so. Excellent work and detail. I know Germany fairly well but only was introduced to the Austrian "Lake District" in middle age. As others have noted - your location is stunning. Looking forward to the '67 build or anything else you take on! |

What that means?? Faulty engine or just predictive maintenance?
I do see that you run your SC without hubcaps, is that just to preserve them for Shows or do you have some issues there too?
Just for you to know; fantastic work you have done here, now it is the turn for the "SparSamba". |

The engine have some problems i tried to fix.
No Hubcaps because i don’t have them painted, and for me it looks better without.
Thank you, but the Sparsamba must wait a little…
Changed the rusted out manifold with a cleaned and pressure tested other old one i had in stock, installed a modified baywindow oil cooler adapter instead of the oil cooler in the fan case and installed a cooler in the front of the car with of course a filter unit.
Put the engine back to the car with qualified Help from a very nice guy from California I first meet some days ago though a coincidence when i were on a hiking tour near my home when suddenly a guy with a Volkswagen shirt come towards me and i asked him if he also have a old Volkswagen (and oh my god, yes he have have have…), some very interesting conversations later he helped me a whole day in the shop getting my SC ready for The Hessisch Oldendorf meeting where he also want to go.

What a thread! Can’t believe I missed it and that I had the good fortune to drive this beautiful truck before I even read the thread. After seeing all the work now I think I would have been afraid to drive it. _________________ Go Reds! Smash state!
