Really not sure where to put this or if it will get moved or locked and deleted (apologies)
Since I lost my job 9 months ago I have been tinkering with my artsy/crafty crap... I need something to keep my sanity and drinking gets so expensive
I have been learning about etching, dying, metal smithing and the list goes on. Any way... just thought I would share, and I hope to make some batches of various copper dog tags to post in the classifieds if I see there is an interest (need to figure out a fair cost, time intensive along with multiple material costs) each one comes out so unique and different than the previous, I like that. I'm not a real fan of production perfect stuff unless its parts for the van! With any luck I might be able to sell a few things online or at local craft fairs (just need to make appropriate stuff for the particular audience) I'm working on some steam punk too...
Made this LOGO and the Syncro shift as a thank you to Stephan using black patina and the syncro with what I call dirt patina (made the crew various VW Gear shirts)
My Tintop Pride tags in natural patina and Tie Dyed patina
I have been experimenting using fire to make flames on copper... after much tinkering on scraps this was my first real attempt. I am pretty happy with it, but I can do better.
I tried hand painting bleach... so rough, ugly and funky that I love it (I'm weird that way ) becoming one of my fav shirts,I was going for a bit of a Myan sun touch
Any way... thanks for letting me share. _________________ Don't harsh my mellow...

Nice work! You obviously have a talent. Love the shirt style and colors, dog tags are cool too.
How about Joker/symbol tag? I'd buy that too! _________________ 1990 Syncro 16" DoppleKabine 2.1 DJ 112i

Thanks for the kind words everyone. I am going to work on doing a batch of syncro's, tin tops (will make some Jokers), and a few others I did not post. I will need to knock out about 30 a batch to make sense (various designs) I sent a couple of ya PM's in regard to requests. I also am working on a syncro shirt among other things... I will come up with costs.
Gene... I cannot afford the cost of a booth set up, canopy, table etc... would need to sell a ton of low end to break even... plus the HEAT!!! They frown if you try to pimp stuff walking around

Took longer than anticipated (Family issues and an face to face interview I had to prep for) Interview I was in WAY over my head... have another ph interview tomorrow morning (Wish me luck) any way, here I go...
Copper tags, all done in black patina with a light glaze. Glaze will eventually wear off and you can let the copper patina as you like. A slight buffing using a jewelry cloth will make it shine. You can spray a clear coat if you want to keep the patina from continuing. I left the tape residue from the production on the back to create a different patina effect. If you are not into that rub the residue off with your thumb, the copper will continue to patina over time and environment. When i went to the coast a tag that i was wearing untreated went green quickly, it was very cool!
Each one is hand made and they all etch differently making them unique pieces of art (I'm laying it on thick huh ). I chose black patina to keep it simple, but going forward I can attempt custom colors via mixing (crap shoot) I can leave patina light or really heavy. I can also invert the image so what is is not etched will be etched, and and the patina will be vice versa. Computer monitors and lighting may affect appearance in real life.
I will be putting a classified ad for this type of stuff shortly... $12 each (shipping and tracking through PayPal)
