Would these seat belts have came in my 71 Doublecab originally or are they another modification by the previous owner?

they are not stock for the American market and they are not of German build. If you look, you will see they are marked Sweden so IF the cab was originally sold in Sweden it could be something only a Swede would know. _________________ “Most people don’t know what they’re doing, and a lot of them are really good at it.” - George Carlin |

I just added a pic of the backside of the latch. They were made in Canada so maybe it's a canadian bus thing? According to the Mcode, it was definitely sold in Canada. More likely, it's a PO add-on, Like the Dodge Charger antenna, trailer tail lights and non-original dome light. _________________ 1985 Diesel Jetta Coupe (temporarily retired at

a multicultural seatbelt. Looks like aircraft or industrial.
I do read Sweden on this part although there is a US patent. Maybe looking up the patent number will tell you something about them.
Edit - Patented 1961 as an automotive seat belt.

No not original, likely a PO's work. Here's what a 71 came with:
These have lost thier plastic covers:
I've seen those belts before, never used in aircraft but a typical add on belt one would buy at the FLAPS for you non belt equipped car. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

That was an "as found" PO gift in a project DC, at least I didn't need a hazmat suit and tongs to deal with it
Although it's been a few years since I've had the seats out of the deluxe, betch'a it's not far behind under there _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.
