My left CV was rubbing the engine wishbone mount. the trans and eng mounts needed replacing and thought that was the cause. Wrong. There was some rust on the bottom of the wishbone that I thought was fixed but I fear thats causing sagging and the rubbing.

Has any of y'all experienced this?
Do y'all have any suggestions?

The rear was probably swing axle converted to IRS. Or from the pictures, it was an IRS setup that broke and wasn't fixed 100%. The proper fix is a large hammer.

you need frame horn supports. The end next to the bell housing up to the upper shock mounts. google "vw frame horn supports" then images

good luck!

to give you an idea how bad it is Laughing your motor should be level to leaning forward.
looks like it broke and someone welded it without bending it back.
also depending on rust you may need to look into replacement horns altogether

Yea that's what I was afraid of. When I bought it the horns were not capped and about 6 mo later I noticed rust on the bottom. I manhandled some sch40 pipe in the bottom to make due. Appearently the bandaide didn't work. Where can I find measurements to fab up some new ones or is it easier to just buy replacements.

Its a small difference but I jacked up the engine and put an angle finder on it. Before I feel the frame move it looks like the engine moves about 2-3 degrees. What do y'all think? Do y'all know how much space I should have between the horns and the CV's?

Thanks

Is there any problems raising the rear mounts an inch or so for CV clearance?

Thx

I nice Samba guy offered his bender but I had a rain day so I just used some 90's. Not the best but its not structural just an engine cage.
