I'm disappointed in this owner and hope to give him the finger if I catch him on the road... The audacity!
I didn't see this posted anywhere when searched, but this bothers me as an aircooled and water cooled VW owner. Should I just let it go like any other bumper sticker? _________________ 1965 Beetle

it's hilarious - go make up one that says the same thing, but substitute "EuroVan" in there
if you own an EV, you can substitute "fake Chrysler" |

I would't be surprised to see that sticker on a Eurovan. They never wave back to me. _________________ 89' Dove Blue Syncro Hightop |

It would take a fairly insecure person to adopt that point of view.
I'm not offended by it, just somewhat appalled. |

Yes. The Split-window Bus owner has his/her opinion. If s/he wants to be unfriendly and disrespectful towards a segment of the VW family, that's something s/he has to live with. It's unfortunate to see that this day and age. Perhaps it's negativity grown out of air conditioning, horsepower, and heat envy.
Split and Bay people tend to forget that the Vanagon is also considered by VW to be a Type 2. Type 2 = Bus.
You could leave a note for owners who have those stickers: "I'm not waving at you; I'm waving at your Bus". _________________ ~Kamz

I have some splittie friends and some van friends, we all do what we do for certain reasons.
My splittie buds aren't technically assholes but are a bit pretentious about there rides. Back when I had my vanagon we left a show to grab some grub and a split guy refused to ride in my soulless refridgerator!
I just wanted to get some Taco Bell and get back to the show so we took his split.....that was the day I learned they don't do drivethroughs! Drink carriers and whatnot can't fit through the little slot that opens up. Owning a split takes the fast out of fast food.
Wtf! How useless is a ride you can't pick up some tacos in. Since then that has been the benchmark for any vehicle selection. Splits aren't even on my wish list
I'll broker peace amongst all bus people with my busagon hybrid. My bus is wbx powered now and over this winter I'll incorporate the van hvac components to make it everything I loved about my van, just packaged in a bay.

Make it a point to wave at all splitties. If it bothers them that much, let them seethe. Maybe even flash your lights. |

We had some for sale at a swap meet here that was along the lines of a "a T3 is NOT a kombi stop waving at me"
I tried to ignore it but when I asked about some of his parts for sale & mentioned me T3 his attitude changed from nice to jerk in a second.
Was very disappointing, I got use to it with my last 2 T4s but didnt expect it with the T3. So when my low light is finally on the road does that somehow magically make me one of the "cool kids"

Get over yourselves!!! Keep waving at them, be nice to them, stop and help them when they're on the side of the road. Don't fuel an unnecessary fire.
Bikers are the same way- BMW drivers won't wave at Harley's. Harley riders won't wave at anyone, I wave at them all. Be nice, it's more contageous than being a jerk.

The basic rule that I follow is that anyone who tries to tell you that their scene or stuff is cooler than yours is automatically wrong and warrants no further attention. Self imposed elitism based on material possessions is a classic trademark of incredibly insecure people.
While it is easy to see the possibility of tongue-in-cheek humor in this sticker, there are undoubtedly people out there who would be more than happy to put a rock through this guys window, or maybe key up the paint job as a reply.
Negativity breeds negativity.

This looks like it's on a bay bus and not a splittie. _________________ '87 Westy in Wolfram Grey Metallic |

Perfect
Yeah, no need to be negative. I'll keep waving, keep smiling, and, for once, pass. _________________ 1982 Westfalia Camper, Air Cooled

Yeah, I don't understand it either. I mean Vanagons are the best vehicles ever. They are great for mobile storage units and perfect target practice with my 50cal.
I could never have a Split since it would impede my food delivery at the drive through. I need to maintain my fat frame to go along with my fat wallet from my trust fund. I love hanging out in mine with friends at the local KOA camping on the weekends smoking weed acting like we have all the educated answers to societies problems while we drink wine and eat smelly cheese. Life doesn't get any better than that...
Seriously though, never forget...
And....
