does he have a Friends of Richard Atwell site for donations and does Canadian Law allow foreign contributions? Anyone know? He has helped me so many times I at least owe him some support in his run for mayor. He should make a good one based on how well he gets along with others, and his attention to detail. He also listens well.

Yep, that’s the man, the myth, the legend!
I knew he moved back to Canada, IMO Saanich would be lucky to get him as a Mayor! With his attention to detail, great reasoning power, dedication to do a good job at whatever he takes on as well as the balance he shows in the way he approaches his endeavors, I would not hesitate to vote for him if he ran for Mayor, Congress in my neck of the woods :0)
Too bad his web page has a certificate error when it comes up on my browser(IE9 on Vista), I hope it will not hurt him in the election :0(

I think he does not wish to be disturbed, as he has not posted on thesamba for years, nor added much to his web page, I’m glad to know he is doing well…
His teck articles have helped me so much I wanted to contribute a small sum to his campaign; unfortunately, I got a PayPal error message…

I saw that just the other day as well when going to his site. Good to see his good deeds carry on. I don't know his political views per se, but were this my community and based on his contributions to the VW community, at least I could be sure his heart was in the right place.

I wouldn't go as far to say he's legend material. Not by a long shot. That's reserved for someone who's been at it far longer.
