Hi my name is Triston, I am 12 years old. I have a stock 67 beetle. My father has a IRS pan, with bus trans, and a raised Thing I beam, and 3 inch body lift kit. Would it make to many people mad if we made the 67 into a full fender Baja? Thanks for the advice. |

Frankly, The wiser move in my opinion is to sell the complete '67 to finance a '69-'71 beetle to use as the Baja buildup. You would be taking a less valuable car off the market- and the '67 might enjoy it's later years intact both with body and value. _________________

My father and I have been debating over this whole subject. We think when we get the IRS to a rolling pan, we can decide whether to use the 67 or sell it stock, and by a donor bug. |

My ideal Class 11 style car would be a full body '67 on a '69 pan with flat cap torsion bars.
If you want a project, do it. Else sell it and buy one that's already built. _________________ Wash your hands

Welcome to the air cooled VW scene. I would stay away from the body lift. 67 body on IRS with thing front end would not require this mod. You can get the car pretty high with this set-up. I would use nothing larger than skinny 27" tires on stock size wheels. _________________ Jack Staggs

Im tired of my baja,so... it's now got early style glass front fenders,a glass nose bolted between them, the baja nose behind that, it handles much better in the wind&highway.Ive lowere it as far as possiable with the raided beam in it.I have another beam just too lazy to change it also have wide full rear fenders for it too. when I do finaly lower it down I may put the baja fenders back on,or swap them out as i feal like it.I love the look of a baja in the weeds. |
