Longer ago than I care to admit, I purchased this bus from a Samba ad right after selling a hard top ’70 Westy. It was up in Portland Oregon which is a 12 hour drive but I didn’t care, it was a SO34 Westfalia! Lucky for me a friend up in Southern Oregon offered to tow the bus back to her place a little south of Eugene! We ended up having to drive to Eugene anyway because of a Uhaul screw up but it wasn’t that bad. Anyway, thanks to Susan for dragging that bus down for us.

After I got it home I took a real good look at it. Man, was I missing some hard to find stuff! I didn’t know if I’d ever find all that stuff so there it sat for a LONG time while I pieced together all the missing stuff. I’m at about 85% as far as having all the stuff it should have, but it’s better than the 45% I was at when I bought it!

Looks nice, what are the plans (Full restoration, driver status or somewhere in between?).

Somewhere in between. I'd like to be driving it next spring. I have sent the seats off to be reupholstered already and should get them back soon. I was lucky enopugh to get some of Alex's orange plaid years ago.

It needs rockers, A and B pillars, drivers battery tray, some roof repair and outer front floors.

I'm going to install a BN4 as well.

Not original paint on the outside but a nice match.

The previous owners at some point had hacked in a propane fridge and 5 gallon tank into the rear cabinet. I think the tank is in the fourth pic above. The hatch on the side is to access the tank and fridge from the outside.

Thanks.

If anyone has the measurements for the mirror that goes in the door cabinet I'd appreciate it. I'm guessing 9x10"

I was able to get a lot of the staining off the wood but not all of it. I can live with it

That interior material is so sweet! VW should have used those colors more, they look outstanding to me. I need to find a flip seat bus! Cool

Wow those seats turned out very nice! How much plaid fabric was required to redo all of them?
