|
|
Hello fellow VW enthusiasts, Im currently trying to get my bus up and running and have just recently got my motor working and transmission rebuilt. The problem lies with the front transmission mount. Im missing both the u-shaped mount, and the metal block that holds the front transmission u-shaped mount to the torsion bar. Im at a loss as to where to find one. Currently need help finding one or where to purchase one. Any help would be much appreciated. I've been searching the web with no results. Its a 73 bay window bus with an 002 transmission.
I also would like to thank this forum for the wealth of information it has provided me over the course of this awesome VW journey. Thanks guys! |

I just found out that an early bay front transmission mount wont work due to the 72( and later?) torsion bar not having holes drilled/tapped for the early style mounts. So a 72' and later needs a late style mount, the u-shaped mount. |

Tried the classifieds here? I've seen the mounting pieces for sale. Or you could try a wanted ad. There are also parts houses that might get it for you, like German supply. |

One or more of them should have one or more of the pieces you need... |

Hi
There are two different one's. But either will work.
Notice the mounting bars are different. The first one has the reliefs machined out for the Stop Bushings. Either will work.
