Just layed a coat of epoxy over the whole thing. I wasn't sure I should post the pics here, or on the rotisserie thread.
The epoxy coat really made a difference in the colours of the Bamboo and the way the Carbon fibre looks.

Thanks Guys.
I tried to take a few pics of what it looks like with the first coats of epoxy on it, but none of them really do it justice, as the brilliance of the shine and the depth of the carbon fibre is epic in person.

As someone who is always tempted to make things just b/c I think I can, this goes far beyond my skill level. Really, really nice work. |

Every time this pops back up I click on it hoping to see more pictures ( I like pictures), but instead just get people posting how sweet that steering wheel is. |
Here ya go.
The horn button hub being epoxied on.
Just trying it on again. I can sit in the driver's seat and make motor noises while I look at my engine and steer my steering wheel. It's fun until someone sees me doing it.
Notice the Bamboo salad bowl speaker enclosures in the driver's door tie in with the rest of the bamboo theme of the cup holders, arm rests, hidden dash, walk thru, and cargo area strips, not to mention the lower half paint code of L241 Bamboo.
I think I may laminate some of the bamboo to make matching middle seat back grab handles next.

You reeled me in from the accessories thread, and I just finished all 5 pages. Your ingenuity and talent have turned out something amazing. Very nice work. _________________ Plate of shrimp |

Nice.
Label it in a hidden spot.
That way when someone finds this bus rusting in the woods 60 years from now they will have clue as to where this amazing steering wheel came. |

I have made some minor progress in the evolution of this wheel being a "one off" to the production of fully carbon fibre remakes.
First off I have a barn door wheel that is going to Lanner soon, I thought I may not get another chance to take a mould of one again, so I did.
This I will hang on to so I can make repair rings for people with nearly destroyed Barn door wheels.
Next I took moulds of my Bamboo wheel.
These were rough moulds, from which I will make a positive of each side. Then with the positives I can rework them with body filler and sand them to perfection. Once they are completed I will make the tooling moulds from them.
When I have the tooling moulds complete I will use a method of vacuum resin infusion to produce the Carbon Fibre wheel ring and spoke halves.
It is a slow process to complete all the tooling needed, but I am getting there.
