I finally took the time to look through the owners manual for my Super, and I found out that it is an original car from my city. I even found out where the dealership used to be (now a flower shop). It's nice to see that it had regular maintenance for at least part of it's life.

I thought that was pretty cool.

Who else has been able to determine if their ACVW is from the same town or location?

My 1970 (owned since 1972) is from same city (Phoenix). I have all the original paperwork, etc.

My 1971 Convertible (owned since 1976) came from Utah.

I have no idea where my '61 Ghia came from.
My '66 Beetle first lived in Athens, Greece and I have service records from a dealership there.

My single remaining VW ('71 fastback) was sold in Canoga Park (CA) to my dad with me in the back seat for the ride home from the dealer.

I moved a few times since then, and am now about 15 miles away.

The dealership is no more.

My current ACVW.....not a bug....a 412.....its original hometown was Frankfurt Germany. It was a tourist pick up vehicle. Bought by an American school teacher who drove it for about y months in Frankfurt.
I have the tourist plate, end of assembly line printout, dealer receipt for install of Blaupjnkt wolfsburg III am/shortwave, and then French plates from a stint there and shippjng docs out of Oslo Norway to South Carolina.

My '72 Super was originally purchased in Wheaton Illinois...I've got the original bill of sale (In the archive for Wheaton Import Motors) as well as a license plate frame from the dealership. I know every single person who has ever owned that car since it was new--it stayed in one family and has been all the way out to Texas and has been in Kentucky for a while now.

The '59 came from Moore Motors in Philadelphia and then moved to Annapolis MD. I got it with a full set of receipts back to deposit paperwork when car was ordered. I am 2nd owner. My grandfather was the first.

My 59 was first sold in Lunenburg Germany. Entered USA in 72 via returning military personnel (now deceased) driven Until 83 where it was parked under a pole barn due to engine problems. We were in the right place at the right time and purchased it. The rest is in my build thread.
