I never do this, but, I just saw a couple posts that say to disconnect the vacuum hose AND PLUG (I only disconnect the hose).
The references (Bentley, Haynes) I have only say "disconnect".
How much of a difference will this make in performance, efficiency. Or is it a thing.

If the carb port has vacuum at idle, you want to plug it so it doesn't leak and throw off the idle mixture and maybe the speed, which can affect the mechanical advance part of the distributor. Best to plug anything you pull off. _________________ Current Fleet:

this specific distributor has dual weights right? I believe this specific distributor on a high compression 1500S you time it at 12.5 degrees 3rd line to the right, and very important, at 700 rpm. Disconnect 2 plug wires to get the RPM down.

I was wondering if this was that combo where it's called out in the big Blue Bentley to remove 2 plug wires to time the engine, because the mechanical advance starts so early. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof
