I recently placed an ad for some early split case synchro rings and I was fortunate to find a pair but at a high cost. My transmission builder would like to modify the shaft to accept the later synchro rings which he says will be stronger and ultimately cheaper.
On the other hand I can invest in the OG rings and have the trans operate as built. Has anyone had this modification done and what has been their experience with it.
Thanks so much
Bruce

If your guy can do it cheaper then I would do it. If originality is your concern, it's not a modification that can be seen.

I have used the 295d syncros in a split case trans, not that big of a deal.
