From the article:
Chinese low-speed electric vehicle (LSEV) manufacturer VIDOEV has copied the Volkswagen Beetle without any signs of remorse.

China is the biggest kid in the sandbox... He gets to play with whatever toys he wants to.

Similar to the honey badger.

While it does look like the Nissan symbol I am pretty sure it is their symbol which just looks like the Nissan (or as one website says a Nissan-like logo with Volvo-inspired lettering)

Gee we live in an age where 95% of the new cars on the highway all look alike.

Yep it looks just as ugly as the new beetle, but it probably has a lot more to do with aerodynamics then it does copying the beetle's appearance.

Another chinese company copied the BMW i3. needless to say, it was a bad copy of it too.
Patent laws don't mean squat in china. Look at everything else they've copied over the years. everything from iphones to watches to even fake Starbucks coffee. Add in that most of the automotive replacement parts are now being made there as well. Rolling Eyes We don't make anything in this country any more. Sad

Sure we do... money, arms, and mistakes.

But more back on target... good ol' eBay tells the Chinese what to fake... and the Devin Wenig guy "working with them" is the incoming CEO, so don't expect things to get any better...

http://www.theatlantic.com/technology/archive/2014...or/375624/

The Chinese even buy best- selling handmade stuff off Etsy to counterfeit. Their "ingenuity" knows no bounds.

I had a great Rolex fake from Hong Kong with Seiko guts. Kept time perfectly for years till I dropped it on a concrete floor. I was a little unhappy about it. Not as unhappy as the thief that later stole it was.
In this age of Branding everything in existence does it really matter? Knock offs have been around for ever and if the original is made in China anyway who is to say it's a fake? The worst thing about on line sales is that it helps the fake market.
