He is out on the trail alone and im not sure what to make of it. Ill pick up the requested items and maybe a spill kit and some whip cream? |

Made it to eburg and tempted to do the rest and loop back by tomorrow and meet everyone to do it a second time....this is a blast!
Been braking and repairing lots, iv had front wheels off the ground at least 60 times, all four off the ground at once about 15 to 20. Three wheeled it 5-10 times with some off camber sections of ruts and bumps... I wish had outside footage, but I dont. The LSD is well worth it...been a great tool to have. Doable if your paying attention without it, but nice to have for sure. Limped into town down one axle for 15 miles at 35mph with it, and was able to find shade to fix the axle so that was worth it all by itself.
Can't post pics from my phone, but I'll get them out to someone who can...
Currently driving with a sticky throttle body due to dirt, can't get it clean enough...a blown left rear shock, no sway bar, and a bent front beam. Alignments a bit out, but still does 65. No overheating issues or low oil yet. Been a quart over full since I left and no leaks I can see. Just adjusted the brakes, as I was sliding the rear every time I hit them on turns...all good now!
Busdaddy, ended up being a coil wire missing on me...had a spare on board...good to go! _________________ Stuart Zickefoose

send me the pictures!
Get some synthetic lube and lube everything up. Dirt will stick to it so you'll def have to clean it later. _________________ Wash your hands

I wondered if there was a thread on Stuarts trip. Awesome! And earning your nick name too it sounds like! Love the updates. We'll be on the receiving end down here when you get close. _________________ 71 Westy 1600 DP, all stock Bus 1

I've got no updates since yesterday at 10:24AM and don't know where they are, but Backwoods Brewing is on the side of the road in Carson WA, and me and 71WhiteWesty are planning to meet there at 5PM to hoist a cold one and see if they come rolling out of the woods this evening. Super late notice but anybody/everybody is welcome. _________________ '71 Westy w/ a 1776 singleport, 34P3 & 205Q. Points.

So we waited for a while, ate some pizza, but never saw them, never got a text. So they are maybe stuck in the mountains... maybe they decided to camp an extra night? Who knows? _________________ '71 Westy w/ a 1776 singleport, 34P3 & 205Q. Points.

Text received from Xevin a short while back. Everybody is safe and on paved roads. But the team encountered some mishaps that prevented completion of the entire route. I am hoping for some entertaining pictures and a few good stories ! _________________ '71 Westy w/ a 1776 singleport, 34P3 & 205Q. Points.

Yep, had a few issues. I will let Stuart explain when he gets back
I will say, although we didn't do the last leg we, all had a great road trip with plenty of fantastic pictures. More pics to follow. I will start with these pics of Stuarts bus at the beginning of section 2. Notice the door the other side looks like that too. The window would not fit back in the frame. He had a dusty trip.

Good times, great people and a lot of beautiful country. Did some backroads, some off roads and took a few roads less traveled. |

Had some great times exploring Mt. St. Helens. Newfisher took us on some great hikes and showed us some terrific scenery, swim holes, and camping. Sunday we worked our way down to the Columbia gorge.

Good work guys! Looks like some epic roads out there. I'd like to know where some of those spots are...
Sorry we didn't get to meet up but I know how road trips and planning goes. Looks awesome!
Stu, you must have caught a lot of air! Did you have to drive home without the windshield?!
Looking forward to the rest of the story! _________________ 71 Westy 1600 DP, all stock Bus 1
