Sorry for this real simple guestion but Im just curious.....My "new to me" Westy is a Vanagon GL.....are all Westys GL's?....is GL considered a trim or option package?.....Mine has power mirrors but roll up windows.....

It's a trim level. Depending on your year, the option list will look like this (this is for 1990):

Look for your year brochure in the "Archives" tab above...

PS: Power mirrors were standard on the GL, but it looks like power windows were only with the "P91" option package (alloys, cruise, PL & PW)

Seriously. Laughing Although the fragile window cranks on the manuals have the same fail rate as the motorized. Go get some '80s Volvo window cranks on Ebay, they bolt right on, and are bombproof.

Yes I prefer the roll ups, one less thing to break. As it is the power mirrors don't work....haven't investigated why just yet....
