The other Bus is 64-66 Standard Microbus, hard to tell beyond that, at least for me.
A rear photo would help.

It does have a Westy rack up top.

It might be better to post this in the 55-67 category, there is a thread there called "Today in Bus hunting History" and keep this thread just for the Barndoor Bus find. People may be able to narrow it down further for you.

I don't think it's 51 or 52 either popout window frames do not have tab for early latch... the chances of front door frames and semaphores got change early in it's life are slim to none

And seriously whats with you U.K guys?

I think you need additional information about them island lads and their addiction to early vans and buses.
It is no secret, that obviously even the crappiest buses, especially Barndoors, they end up there. Those guys won't miss a chance to pick'em up wherever they might find them Laughing
I am talking from experience Laughing Laughing
So rest assured that most all of them mean what they say Exclamation

obviuosly off topic of the barndoor, but yes it does. the one visible clamp also looks to be 59-60 style on my computer. but not exactly clear.

That is one cool looking bus. Hopefully it lands in the right hands.

When you check for the vin #, see if it has the VOLKSWAGEN CANADA metal tag on it?? That would be something intersting to see.

I'm surprised you Canadian's didn't discover this one!? Regardless where it goes, hopefully it's placed on the road soon.

I keep telling everyone, those early "Vans" Wink are still out there.

Wow! If these are in East St Paul, I have been sleeping on the job! I'd love to take a look before they go off to a new home. I could probably give you an idea of what to ask. (don't worry ...I already have enough VWs) I just got my 54 bus on the road this year, and have had a blast driving it around. Who knew there was another one that close!

Give me a call If it is possible for me to take a look.

Cheers,
John.

It does. Also, the height of the rack is similar to a sloper rack (or a Bay Window rack). I cant see if it has the additional supports on the front/rear
legs but that would tell us more.

Maybe it's just me, but I see Andre B's name all over this one.

Whoever ends up with it, I hope it's resurrection is posted here.

Hi all, I gotta say im really blown away by the dedication I have seen with the resurrection of so many of these old BUSES (happy)?
I have been flipping thru some of the threads when I have some spare time and wow those projects are definitely not for the faint of heart.
I will be getting the vin # this weekend not like any of you guys would care to see it LOL

So the mystery of the undated BUS shall be solved.

I will also be taking a LOT of pics. the good the bad and hopefully no ugly but if its there, I will declare it.
After that, the van will be for sale on thesamba.com exclusively to highest offer. (please wait till I post pics ok) I don't want anyone making an offer they may regret and try to chisel down once they see the BUS (I actually slipped and typed van first) . So if you have any requests of what exactly you want pics of, just ask.
Im savvy, been fixing cars for over 20 years and am aware this thing is not a toilet. Its very restorable and would make a awesome rat rod.
The van is real, the owner has owned it for 30+ years and will be supplying the title and bill of sale. you give the cash to him, not me. I am just helping him out because he cant be bothered with it.

I really don't want to have to deal with a bunch of hassle shipping this so explain to me how you want to get it back to the U.K if you buy it.
