I wanna nominate DBM for the most MIA-est? |
Talked to DBM last week . He is taking a break from " the wrong information ".........I told him he was just getting old !!!. His engineering background gives him a very precise view of repairs ...........He will be back ; someday....
I was stuck in a hotel in Phoenix one weekend . He came over and took me to a local Friday night car show ( 200+ ) in his bus ....
...Next time I was in town I got there early and helped him replace a tranny..
..You should have seen the reaction when I went to the front desk at the Sheraton to check in with my greasy clothes _________________ 63 two fold rag

Was wondering when someone would mention Nigel. I second with the chant "Skeet! Skeet! Skeet!"
SGKent gets my vote cuz he helped me with EGR gaskets despite the US Post's machinery eating one of my checks and me forgetting to properly fill out the replacement! Patience of a saint that one....
Skillz gets honorable mention based purely on the inspiration he provides! _________________ 1971 STD BEETLE- DD-1st car, 1st love. keepin' it stock! 1600DP, Solex 34-3 Mexi Bosch SVDA Dist NOW w/POINTS

Tcash is the man for putting all that info together.
Aeromech, busdaddy, SGKent, RandyInMaine, Amskeptic are all right up there.
Special shout out on a personal level to Raul (vw76westy) for always PM'ing me whenever he happens to come across any rare early bay Clipper interior stuff.

Skills also belongs on the list, not just for his vast knowledge but the fact that his posts frequently make me smile! |
^^^^^ Oh and definitely agree with this. Skills posts are definitely spot on. Just don't expect any sugar coating from him, which I personally don't mind plus it gives the threads here a little more "sandpaper! Just because we own buses doesn't mean we're all peace and love hippies! _________________ 1968 Deluxe "Clipper L" Type 2

Thank you all for your comments I really appreciate it.
My thanks goes to Mr. Everett Barnes, without his efforts none of this would be possible.
I would also like to thank all the members for their Post, Pictures, and Technical Articles. Without you're contributions, none of the work I have done, would have been possible.
I would like to vote for Karl, may he RIP. His knowledge was remarkable. The pictures and data he posted are invaluable.

It sounds like you're both switch hitters. I guess you could say he has "skills" and you gots some "babysnakes"
Get a room
Id like to shout out to vw76westy as well. And Stewart - he may be a spaz but the kid listens, gets shit going and is the genuine article for the future of this hobby - even though he hasn't quite passed the "preservation" portion of our hobby yet. _________________

I just found this thread and if I had to choose one person who inspires me and also a person I would most want to meet it would be......
Busdaddy
I say that with trepidation because I don't want to offend anyone and there are many here that contribute greatly, especially Tcash. It's just that Mark is one person who hardly ever gets pissed. He usually has a great sense of humor plus I can't think of anyone else who knows buses better. He lends his advice daily and asks for nothing in return. Now, I'm going to challenge Mark as well as all the rest to post a picture of themselves here. After all these years I've never ever seen a picture of Busdaddy.
