I was looking at that yesterday..... I am inclined to say the body is real, but has been placed on a later pan(IRS).. They most certainly had RGB originally.

Kind of odd to have such an item and Not know the legitimacy....(?)
Maybe it was inherited?

Not in a position to buy right now, but curious either way.
Fantastic price, wether it's fake or not... Sure looks the part.

If it's fake, then kudos to the builder! Wink

Tempting, isn't it? The dual port motor can't be original. The new advertiser and the lack of paperwork are certainly red flags.

I agree... That's why I through out the possible inheritance scenario...
Only thing that makes sense, from a legitimate deal standpoint...

Otherwise, this has Shady written all over it!!

Price drop already....

What I am seeing is the front skid plate is not ribbed, front fenders are narrower, speedo 68 beetle, and no hole in the rockers for the jack. Maybe a Kubelcar made in N.M. a few years back or like was said a movie prop.

"Not sure if body is authentic" usually means it's not...still the price is attractive. Wish I was in Texas to go look at it.

Hello gang! I would like to share with you some Kubel Wagen Pictures with you. Last Summer 2014 I went to Germany to visit some friends, and I wrote in the FB to the German 181 gang if I coud meet with someone while I was there. So I got a message and I was invited by Tomas Bomba to visit Deutsches Panzermuseum Munster, how cool is that?

I'm standing next to the Kubel

Just love the raw metalwork on that Kubel!! So utilitarian!

I've slowly gotten over showy/shines/smooth.......
Rough and rugged is easy and unique!

Utilitarian is the word, Joe.
When BMW and Zundapp were making sidecar motorcycles for the German military, the Zundapp was preferred because the sidecar wheel was driven.

Once in full production, 2 1/2 Kubelwagens could be built for the cost of one 2 wheel drive Zundapp.

Interesting points, Ron..... But compare the fenders to the one pictured from jjranauro to the one for sale...
Both appear to be the same width front fenders, with larger headlamps...
The Kubel Dennis posted has much wider fenders, but smaller headlamps....

Also, in the side shot of the one for sale, with some lighting adjustment, I indeed see the jack hole( Rolling Eyes ), just aft of the B pillar....

I agree on the speedo, certainly not original.. They did invert it to get that detail though!

My gut still leans toward real...Body at least.. Most likely on a later pan(and speedo)... The corrosion on the dash edges just seems to "real"....

Movie prop, quite likely, but ffriggin awesome nonetheless...

I'd sure love to put eyes on it and see..
