I used to be on the airs list and no longer am for some reason. I tried to sign back up a few months ago and got a 'not found' error page. Just tried again tonight and got the same thing. Anyone know what is going on? _________________ KK4NTP

I hear you. This shit fell apart somewhere. I think it was a very worthy and credible idea/site, as I feel the VW air-cooled, and yes some of the water-cooled brothers/sisters are leaps and bounds beyond any car culture foreign and domestic! I even e-mailed Everett to see if this was an important venue to pick up on.
This hit me personally, as I prepped an old original '71 super for a trip from Los Angeles to Louisiana for a lucrative work gig. This was against my better judgment but, oh well. All her issues were out of Calif and I used that site to get her some warm hearted assistance. I don't recall if she actually linked up with any AIRS members but know many others have helped her out. She made it to approx. mid Texas where she had to tow her busted bug to Louisiana.
I wish this idea could be resurrected but that remains to be seen.

They are sorting out some networking issues. Once the website is back up the AIRS list is still a mostly useless mess. There has been lots of talk about how to fix it over the past few years. That's about it though. |
