Why do you think it will cause problems with the oil cooler? _________________ Glenn

Oil pressure is controlled by relief valve in case not by pump...
This one?

Just don't use a FRAM filter with it, get WIX of NAPA Gold or something really good...

If you have a 26mm pump, and replace it with a 26mm pump... pressure should be the same. It has nothing to do with the filter. _________________ Glenn

When the oil pressure is high it still goes through the engine and the pressure is felt by the oil coolers. Single Port engines use steel oil coolers and are very strong. Just avoid a 30mm or larger filter pump and you should be ok. Also, run lighter weight oil in the winter something like a 5W30 or a 0W40 No 20W50 or Streight weight 30 oil!
If you have 10W40 or something for the summer in it and it is a cool morning just don't rev your motor till she is warm.
If you have a small pick-up tube make sure and get the early case oil pump.
Also, they are subject to loss of oil pressure when cold. Thick oil can't be drawn up through the small pick-up tube by a stronger sucking aftermarket oil pump very well. _________________ 1960 Beetle And 1679cc DP W-100 & Dual Zeniths! |

You DO know that there are 2 different styles - flat or dished cam. Also, if you are using the crank pulley tin, you will need to grind the fins or cut out the tin some or a little of both so the pulley doesnt rub the tin _________________ D-Dubya Manx clone - 63 Short pan,1914.

Cool - then its pretty simple....once you get the old oil pump out.....If you are tight for space there are quite a few filter options. for a small/medium filter I like the Napa Gold 1342. Made by Wix and its a really good filter. _________________ D-Dubya Manx clone - 63 Short pan,1914.
