I posted something on the Vanagon forum, but it quickly went sideways when the moderator decided to change my title, so I decided to end that discussion and use the feed back forum to post my results:
So many times you only hear negative responses about a company or product. it seems to be much easier to complain than to congratulate, human nature i guess.
In this instance, I want to through a HUGE shout-out to GoWesty for unbelievable customer service. I wasn't the original purchaser of a set of 16x7 ET 30 steel wheels for buses and vanagons, rather, I bought a new set from someone that made the original purchase 4 years ago. When I got home and opened the GoWesty boxes I saw a brand new set of wheels, however the 4th wheel never went through the final manufacturing process of have the vent holes cut - it was a solid wheel in the right dimensions.
Regardless that I wasn't the original purchaser, GoWesty is sending me a replacement wheel after my explanation of buying these wheels from a secondary seller. They could have easily told me to pound sand and buy a single wheel, but they didn't. I was hoping for this outcome, but didn't expect it. I am really grateful for GoWesty's customer service when they could have easily said they can't warranty a product from 4 years ago, sold to someone else.
I really appreciate this attitude and will definitely keep them high on my list for vendors when I need something.
