As usual Christian and Traugutt, their volunteer staff and the townspeople of the quaint village of Hessisch-Oldendorf, Germany hosted another edition of the greatest VW weekend on the planet! Simply incredible, amazing old VWs came out of the woodwork for this show. A beautiful and scenic location, good weather, amazing Vintage VWs and wonderful enthusiasts from every corner of the earth. What an amazing time we all got to enjoy!
A special thanks to Bob from BBT and his staff who hosted a great BBT open house party and then a huge "convoy" of vintage VWs from near Antwerp all the way to the village of H-O. Bob and his crew are the best!
Thanks to everyone who organized, volunteered, and attended those festivities. You all made it very memorable. A bunch of us are still wearing silly smiles on out faces today!

Bill nailed it right on the head. By far the best VW show I've ever been to. If you haven't been, start saving now because the trip out is well worth it. HO17 surpassed all my expectations by a long shot. The Grudmanns know how to put on a fantastic show and deserve huge THANK YOU! Memories to last a lifetime for sure. _________________ Phil 4:13 |

There were visitors from all over the world with some very rare an amazing aircooled vehicles on display. I’m doing a few write ups from my experience there with lots of images if anyones interested?
First couple are already online at www.vdubxs.com if you want to have a read or follow?
In the meantime, enjoy seeing an original WW2 German type 166 Schwimmwagen in action from the show…

Agreed, apart from Bill's observation about the weather. Where was he on the Sunday?. The on-off rain all day killed off the swap meet prematurely. Okay, the bigger outfits with marquees and gazebos could handle it but the smaller guys operating out of the back of a vehicle with a couple of fold up tables or even just on the pavement were doomed. Remember these guys often have the more interesting/cheaper stuff and don't do the regular show circuit.
Still, it could have been worse - EBI...... |

Hi Maurice!
It was great to meet you and Doug in the swap meet at H-O and chat. Thanks again for the cool and I'm sure "ultra rare" Cunado European Tour t-shirt on my shoulder in the photo. I now wear it proudly, think I don't? You can bet that as long as I'm upright, I'll be there again in 2021!
