Blizzard White with a black The Thing strip down the bottom. Very simple and orginal. When I bought the car last year from a Women up in the mountains here it had been her daughters while she was going to college. When she finished she parked it out in back of her house and it set there for 8 years. There is no rust in the car anywere. She asked me if I could keep it White and for the $800.00 she sold it to me for I say YES. Had all new brakes with drums, new generator new stearing damper, 4 new tires installed. I have everything to put it back together from the Thing Shop. Just waiting to get it preped and painted. Bumpers and rims and roll bar have been powder coated and new windshield. Gas heater works perfect.

Powder coated rims .... damn that reminds me that I still need to make the time to finish my rims!
Thanks Joe - it took me a while to finally decide on which one I wanted. |

For the ones that have the wheel, is there a big difference in wheel diameter and the dish? I have a 15" wheel on my type 3 and its too thin. Its between this or a Flat Four.
I have a Forever Sharp on my Mustang,, but I went from a 14" to a 14". _________________ Mario De Leon

GB is correct same depth and distance from the turn signal assembly as a stock wheel. The loss of the inch in width is noticeable first when you go to get in. No more thigh drag for me. The steering itself took some getting used to but after about a week I don't even notice it anymore. |

I just recently bought a 1974 thing.
I think I need the e07 adapter from this company.
Anyone install this wheel on a 1974? any help would be greatly appreciated |

74 had an early and a late. If you have a plastic housing-late, pot metal early. VW changed around Feb-Mar. 74. The shaft size got smaller in later cars. |

I know this is older post but I purchased one of these wheels and hub. Did anyone have any issues with installing e08 hub on 73 thing. Mine fits but the splines are very loose compared to org wheel
Any thoughts |

I would contact them. It sounds like you have the hub for a 74. It should fit very tight with no play. Someone might have changed out your steering in the past.
