if you want used, you could start contacting vw junk yards: busted bus, avery’s, busco, interstate, and way out salvage ought to get you started.

Actually, I’ve recently learned that this most common problem is a broken spring. In fact, I sourced the spring and bought 10 or so to keep in stock. So, remove the mechanism, clean it in your heated ultrasonic cleaner, wash, dry, blow dry. Lube and install the replacement spring.
