|
|
Been looking at some replacement cab floors to go in my 71 bus and I'm interested to hear from the folks who have done this repair before. Who makes the best panel? Gerson's panel looks pretty amazing on his site.
Any tips on doing the job? The rust isn't terrible but I want to get it under control and not have to worry about it for another forty years.
Thanks in advance guys.

I have installed 1 Gerson and 2 Wolfsburg, both were excellent and would say its hard for me to see the difference once installed. I do know the Gerson is $90 while Wolfsburg's goes for $65. If you are looking for a driver side (left) for a early bay....I can tell you as of 3 weeks ago the only company I could locate in the entire US was Gerson. Just checked and Wolfsburg is still out of stock. If this is something you are wanting to do in the near future I am afraid your options might be limited, although to what most consider the best option available.
You can see me installs on my build threads.

If you are doing the whole floor its a long job...best time yet has been 14 hours. Expect to repair some of the wheel tub and/or dog leg sections _________________

Thanks for the correction. I used to be a nice guy, then I ruined it by exposing myself to the public. |

I'm actually referring to the entire cab floor vs. the small patch panels. _________________ Robert in Memphis
