Going through my part stock, and came across this seal in a box marked ‘save for later.’ But I don’t remember what I bough it for.
I have a box of 10, says Kaco ring and a non-vw part number
They are German made. The only English on the box says oil seal

IMHO - looks like either a trans flange seal, or perhaps a rear axle seal. Too big for T4 nose seal, too small for flywheel seal, and too big for front axle seal. That is the best I can do. Maybe someone will recognize the dimensions. _________________ “Most people don’t know what they’re doing, and a lot of them are really good at it.” - George Carlin |

Real axle seals..... thats right. The bus takes 2 each side right? I think that's why i bought a box of 10, to do 2 buses at the time.
Thanks steve

they look decent. I would think they would be as good as anything being sold by the parts houses today. $2.50 to $3 each is what they sell for new if that is what they are. part #211501317 48 mm x 72 mm x 9mm. Elring profile is below. https://www.ksmotorshop.com/article-detail/view/en...211501317b

Yes...looks like a good seal. Depending on the age of it.....KACO used to be made in Germany.
Sadly.....I just read a little while back.....that the new majority owner of KACO..... ...is a Chinese company.
