Has anyone installed a hitch on the nose of their bus? For carrying a cooler tray, rack or anything else?
I'm thinking I could weld a receiver across the underside of my roo bar thus avoiding any potential permanent modifications to the bus itself and it would be nice to have some extra storage, or a place to mount a seat or hammock when camping.

A front mounted hitch also works great for launching boats on slippery ramps. Your drive wheels stay above the algae line. I have thought of putting one on my bus. |

My experience with "roo bars" is they are more show than go. If you have seen what hitting a deer can do to the front of a car, much less a cow....Good for deflecting weeds and brush but I wouldn't put carrier weight on one without significant reinforcements.
I'll be rigging a nose ball on mine, just off the bumper, for maneuvering my trailer. I'll do a clamp-on if I can. I'd rather not have anything sticking out that can get slammed through the nose skin. |

Got one on my truck
Got it because I was storing my boat in a yard where it was super tight to back the boat into. This worked great. I suppose I could mount a bike rack or cargo carrier on it sometime especially since I sold the boat.

That's exactly what I'm looking for, Aeromech. I figure a small tray to carry a cooler or firewood, chairs or whatever I need to tie down. I also saw a nice foldable bench that mounts to the receiver or a hammock/seat. _________________ Mike
