I recently decided it was time to make a formidable tool purchase. Ever since getting into VWs I have only had a hodgepodge of tools acquired second hand or in cheap sets that never held up. Many of my friends suggested brands like SK, Snap On, Craftsman and a few others, but I really had my heart set on a Hazet lineup.
I contacted Jensputzier, after a few interactions in the Assistant threads here on TheSamba.
I wanted a decent set to start off, and knew I would be building on my collection in time.
I gave Jens a list of tools I wanted based on what I had encountered in my 10 years of the VW hobby, mixed with suggestions from friends here, and the wise words of Bentley and Muir.
What I got was a prompt, concise, and polite response addressing each item, and making suggestions as to what parts may better suit my needs. I decided I needed to hold off a short bit to get some extra funds together and Jens politely waited on the sideline. Even going so far as letting me know the optimal time to order based on the U.S. Dollar to Euro conversions.
When I did order, I got a well packaged kit, which arrived in less than a week, with a few small gifts thrown in which I really appriciated! The pricing for what I got was far better than what I would have afforded had I bought a comparable quality US brand and the communication, suggestions and courteous service was second to none.
I WILL be back for more.
