So I order this EMPI 4450 Trigger Shifter from Dunebuggy Warehouse in Hamilton, Ohio. It's going to be my weekend project. Got it in the mail today, looks pretty straight forward, shifter assembly and a metal plate. I've replaced stock shifters before, no big deal, but I've never installed one like this and I was hoping for some instructions....do I remove the stock assembly and plate, then install the new plate and assembly? Is it that easy? Reaching out to those who may have already done this, looking for tips, tricks and what to expect. Any info is appreciated...

I put one of these shifters in my '72 Standard and really liked it much better than the stock shifter that was in it.

You might want to consider replacing the rivets with bolts in advance, like in this example:

The rivets appear to have a tendency to let go..

Also, at first I used the extra plate that came with it. But the shifter rattled a lot. Then I measured the amount the ball sticks out, and compared it to the stock shifter, and I discovered I didn't need the plate. Removing it made the rattling almost dissapear. So maybe measure it and compare it to your stock shifter.
I really like this shifter too.
