The 1977 style front facia is so much nicer. I never liked the later one in the pic. _________________ 1973 standard, yellow, lowered, 3” narrowed front, 1600 blo-thru turbo w/single dell 15.4@86, so far

Yes, I remember being disappointed with the '78 update, back in the day. _________________ “If you care for a thing long enough, it takes on a life of its own, doesn't it? Mending old things, preserving them, looking after them – on some level there's no rational grounds for it.”

It reminded me of an even uglier version of the USA version of the Citroen SM front end.
USA:
Euro:
In its Euro form the SM was beautiful, but our lighting laws hacked it. Apparently Pontiac engineers loved it. |

The Citroen was *unique*, and some of those body lines reappeared in the sad Pontiac Aztek. _________________ Larry in OB

I don't know why stuff like that appeals to me, but I'd proudly drive the sh*t out of that. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

Saw one of these driving through town yesterday, same color even. Local plates, but I have not seen it before. Hope to see it up close soon.

When I worked in Estonia (2008-09). I had a daily taxi driver that would pick me up at my apartment, in an Opal Vectra Caravan. Diesel powered and quiet as a church mouse.

The dullest range of cars ever created, and by a significant margin. Which is saying something, because it succeeded the Cavalier.
UK models were branded Vauxhall, and came with a flat cap and string backed gloves for the driver. A crochet blanket and mittens were provided for the passenger. A tissue box cover for the rear parcel shelf was an option, but most owners were too tight to buy it, preferring to knit their own. _________________ Andy
