Filler Neck Replacement Ball?

On the late model vanagons the gas filler neck has a cage and ball in the end to keep gas from splashing up when filling. The one I just removed doesn't have a ball in the cage. And it wasn't floating around in the tank.

Does anyone know a commonly available ball that is a good substitute for it? I'm thinking some sort of kids toy has just the right diameter ball.

What size ball does it need? Nice plastic ball inside every can of Guinness.

Obviously check that the ball you eventually find won't soften or melt in a solvent like gas. Very Happy
