I have rounded up a set of wider wheels to fit my Silver buggy (Welch fun buggy with side pods).
When i got it it came wiht some old aluminum wheels, which were fairly narrow, they appear to be 5 or 5.5 wide. I want to put a larger ( and wider tire) on the buggy, and this seems to fit the part.
After some searching i have not been able to find lug nuts that appear to have the correct pitch for them. I have 1/2 by 20 studs in my disk brake front and drum rear. I could remove them and go to a bolt if the consensus is to do that. They appear to be original, with the stamped J and the center caps. They are 15 by 8 i assume.
i will also be needing a matching skinnier front set, and have been looking locally for them (Utah) for a while, but they don't seem to come around that often.
any help with sourcing the correct lug nuts would be appreciated. note that the local discount tire and les schwab had no answer.

As a clarification, i know the thread is 1/2 by 20
i am looking for the bolts that will have the same angle as what is cut into the Jackman Wheels. It looks like they countersunk the hole.
thanks

well any parts store should be able to sell you 1/2 - 20 lug nuts, but what ou have to determine is if they are tapered or ball seat |

Thanks. It appears to be tapered. What i can't find is what the pitch of the taper would be.

Here's a link to their old catalog from '70-80. You might find specs there.

I had always thought they were "for off-road use only" since they didn't carry any DOT approval stamp?
It's easy to measure rim width with tire off - it is the distance to where the tire sits when mounted --- not the overall width of the rim. _________________ CMC '57 Porsche Speedster Replica and Dolphin boat tailed full pan VW MOD-T Street Buggy |

Here is Dorman parts caalogue, in Section 10 around page 150 onwards is ll the lug bolts, nuts and studs you may ever need.... Find correct item and use part number and you can order through someplace like RockAuto or local FLAPS... Think almost us made (spec) wheel uses the same taper, and believe there is only 2 variations of ball studs/nuts...

The Jackman wheels probably use a taper seat, you should visually be able to tell difference....
