I have the Coil mounted strangely because of Kadron center linkage and powder coated shroud. There is a possibility that the rear of the coil body could touch the alternator body strap. Does anyone know if this will have a negative effect? Thanks

No effect at all. The outer case of the coil is insulated from the internal wiring

Only if the coil vibrates then eventually it may wear through the coil body if it rubs on metal.
Move the coil slightly away if you can, or pack something in between to stop it vibrating.
