Kieft En Klok unbox a factory crated 36hp engine that's never seen the light of day. Great example of how these engines left the factory, including the gold-ish engine block treatment. Hopefully they'll share detailed photos of it as well.

So cool.
I wonder what year it is?
I imagine the gold color on the flywheel is cosmoline. Other interesting things: the screen on the air intake, and the hand crank crankshaft nut.
I wonder what the story behind this is? Thats a big crate to have sat forgotten, someone must've been sitting on it. _________________ modok wrote:

That air intake screen looks a little crushed, send it back.
But seriously, wow, amazing that there are still NOS 36hp engines out there. |

My understanding is vw built a lot of industrial engines, the screen, the crank start pulley bolt, the magneto, are all tell tale signs that this was destined for some industrial job. _________________ 2-time NASA Pro Racing Champion, Bonneville 130 Club and 150 Club Memeber, BRS Pro Gas racer |

Is it just me or was anyone else feeling like they should have cut around the bottom of the covering and lifted it off. Haha. I know it's just paper but the paper is part of this item's history and just ripping into it like it's Christmas seems crude. I know that's getting a bit anal. lol Never mind, do what you want. |

I had thought the same thing. Would you just tear off the dealer window sticker on a barn find old car? |
