Hi All,
Trying to finish up the restoration on my modded 87 Syncro Westy.
I'm replacing all of the stock switches with Contura rocker switches.
The headlight switch is my first start...Looking at the wiring diagram in the Bentley for hours gave me very little progress...
Can someone look at this wiring diagram and give me some suggestions to adapt it to my headlight switch wiring? The replacement switch is only an on/off type, but I do not care about having a two position switch for the marker lights. Same for the dimming circuit. I just want full bright.
Thanks!

That is the wiring diagram for the contura switch I will be installing in place of the original headlight switch. _________________ 1987 Syncro converted to Westy. Supercharged WBX. Restoration almost complete!

Got it. Looking at page 97.94 in the Bentley. Power comes from 30, headlights get power on 58, panel lights on 58b. If you wanted to just deal with those then it looks like you would tie 30 to 2 and 58&58b to 3, ground 8. But you would need a separate switch for hi beam power, or a DPST switch instead of the one you show. This also doesnt deal with the load relay. Besides cool factor, why do this? The stock switch is a TPST switch for a reason. Why not just does the relay mod for higher current?

Stephen,
Thank you for the help. I no longer have a stock instrument cluster and my dash has been modified. All switches are being replaced with the contura v. When you say that the high beams need a seperate switch, are you referring to the turn signal/high beam switch?

I see what you mean. No, take a look at your bentley on that page, i believe its connection "X" that puts power over to line 103, which is the power that goes to the hi beam switch. I dont have it in front of me rit now. Can look tomorrow

Why not use the original switch and just add a set of relays to power the headlights. Easy peasy |

If absolutely necessary I will use the old switch.
I would rather find a solution to switch over everything to the contura v switches.
