|

I do not really want to get into Load Range C vs. D debate because the VW spec was written 30 years ago. Yes it is still valid, but tire materials have greatly improved in the last 30 years so while it is valid I think there are new tires that will do the job on highway driving that are not "D's"
It has also been done here on the forum so we do not need to do it again.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Not to alarm anyone, but I came across a reference while researching the WRG3 where one guy had problems damaging the sidewalls because he hit a pothole. He blew out the tire.
Now I just received my WRG3's and didn't see this until after I pressed the buy button. So I am looking at the sidewall and for sure it is thinner then I would like.
So has anyone else heard anything about problems with the sidewalls being easily damaged?
About the one tire that had problems...this guy had three separate incidences because of potholes blowing out the tires.
That either says there is a problem with the tires, the roads or the driver-take your pick! |

"Avoid potholes" would be my advice.
Report back your opinion of them after a few thousand miles. |

I don't think it is going to be an issue on paved roads and normal driving. It's got all good reviews, winter is where it shines. If I do any serious off roading I'll get a tire for that where I'm not too concerned about road noise. |
