I cannot release the front seat backs using the handle on the side of the seat.
The seats have been re-trimmed by the previous owner..
Is there any link which shows the mechanism or any thoughts from anyone with the same problem
Thanks guys/gals..

Here's how I have to do mine -

There is one of these levers on each side of either seat, took me forever to figure out how it worked so I could fold it down..

Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

The hook on left of the image is what moves out of the way to allow the seat to fold. I have to pull that up with my finger to allow clearance, I have to use the one next to the tunnel. Have you tried pushing down on the handle at the bottom of the seat (you can see it in the pic - on the right)?

Just a quick update..After a bit of thinking decided to strip down the seats and found the problem ..

when the seats were re-trimmed they had not removed the padding from around the lever button and it was being prevented from full travel on both seats - a little cutting and the lever works perfectly ..
