Yes the opera lady has sung. It's final, I have sold Scooby to a very enthusiastic young man who is wild about it. His enthusiasm softens the blow somewhat but I still feel somewhat sad. Scooby and I put a lot of miles on together.
My health is such that I probably will only drive for another year or two and I've decided to stay in the VW family and am looking for a 2006 or 7 or 8 Jetta 2.5L Sedan. Very hard to come by at a reasonable price.
So I say thank you to all the great people in Samba, I couldn't have done it without you and it was a real treat to meet so many of you in person. That's the part I'll miss the most. I'll still hang around some of the time and I definitely won't let the door hit me on the way out, I always keep one foot behind me.
A big squeezy hug for you all. I have encouraged Patrick to join thesamba.com and explained all the reasons why. He drives a Jetta TDI and is quite handy and has an excellent mechanic who I met during an inspection.Take care and keep the spirit alive. Vanagonitis will live on! You can contact me thru PM or EMail. _________________ '09 2.5L Jetta 5 cylinder, 5 spd, super turbo, see thread in H2O Cooled Jetta, etc...

"....I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference."
You have taken many roads less traveled by, and learned and enjoyed, and become furious, and distraught. But you have hung in there and enjoyed the travels you've earned. Hope the new owner is even half as loving and appreciative of your vannie.
Enjoy the next chapter(s) of your journey. _________________ Dave

DAIZEE, I've had a '02 Jetta wagon for 5 years, 2L 5 spd , great rig, good MPG, it can haul lots of stuff, good in the snow, I use it mostly in the Salty months when the "Nice" Vws stay in.
Good luck in your hunting.

I have already missed your posts over the last few months. So be sure and check in from time to time and say hello when you do. I owned a Jetta when most of these folks were in diapers, and there are a lot of Jettas in signatures here. So I make a motion that when you get your Jetta, you be allowed to ask Jetta questions here in the Vanagon forum as a matter of honor and purely for the fun of it. _________________ 1987 2WD Wolfsburg Vanagon Weekender "Mango", two fully locked 80 Series LandCruisers. 2017 Subaru Outback boxer. 1990 Audi 90 Quattro 20V with rear locking differential, 1990 burgundy parts Vanagon. 1984 Porsche 944, 1988 Toyota Supra 5 speed targa, 2002 BMW 325iX, 1982 Toyota Sunrader |

I don't know about asking Jetta questions on the Vanagon forum. When I opened the trunk on my friend's Jetta I couldn't even find the engine... _________________ Jay Brown
