Hi I can't get my my bus to shift clutch cable felt loose from front of bus how do tell how loose or tight it should be ? how do I adjust clutch cable ?

| theres a wing nut on top of the transmission you can tighten or loosen to adjust it |

Disclaimer, this is if your, disk & pressure plate, throw out bearing, operating shaft & lever, clutch cable, Bowden tube, clutch cable lever, clutch pedal lever, clutch pedal lever support and bushings, are good.
Note: we loosen the clutch adjusting wing nut Not tighten it as the clutch disc wears out.

| the clutch has about 3 inches of play in the pedal. I haven't had it long enough bus daddy or driven it enough to know if it happened all the sudden all I know is I was driving it up a steep wet grassy hill it was working then all the sudden I couldn't shift any more I couldn't reach the cable from the back because the bus is kinda stuck in a low place but I did grab the cable from the front and it was very loose |

If you will be replacing the clutch cable, be aware that there have been many threads about new cables being the wrong length. Lots of clutch cable info available using Search. It's always a good Idea to have a spare onboard. They break in the winter and are no fun to change on the side of the road lying in the snow .

If it used to sort of work and now doesn't at all it's very likely the cable has snapped, you can try tightening the wing nut a little (make sure the cable dosen't turn too, small vise grips on the cable end of the solid part usually help), if that doesn't make a difference it's new cable time.
As previously mentioned some new cables are the wrong length, also look at the lever on the bottom end of the pedal to confirm it's installed facing the correct way.
Sorry to hear it's stuck in a mud pit, better find a tow rope first, don't hook to a bumper.

Don't just buy a new cable. You also should get a new Bowden tube and a Clevis pin. Consult the Bentley for installation and those vids for proper adjustment.
Make sure you clean out the clutch cable tube with an air compressor before you install the new cable. And make sure you grease the new cable REALLY well when you install it. Also grease the Clevis pin pivot point. All important to smooth clutch operation.

To work on it where is sits it sounds like you will have to dig a trench under it. To access the tranny end up the cable I usually slide under the vehicle just in front of the left rear tire and then scoot back behind the tire. Maybe for you it would be easiest to dig a trench on the left side of the vehicle just to the inside of the left rear tire from the back. Not going to be fun or easy. You are also going to need access in the front, again this isn't going to be easy. If you can winch it to the top of the hill and then start it in gear and drive to a better location, that would be recommended.
It is also possible that the lever on the throwout shaft cracked or that the levers that push against the throwout arm broke off the shaft. |

That sounds like a cable that was breaking strand by strand over a period of time, stretching, and then the last two broke. You can get the vehicle out of the low spot by starting the engine in first gear and turning the ignition off before you hit something. You don't really need a clutch at all if you have the skill to match the engine speed and the transmission while moving.
The place to buy the proper length cable varies with time. Do a search to get the latest info.
When you replace the cable tie a long piece of string to the end before you pull it out. Use the string to pull the new one back in and to guide it through the correct routing. The clevis pin in front and the bowden tube in back might need replacing also. Clutch cable repair is often a complete repair with all new parts front to back and a spare cable should be carried onboard.
