I am trying to wire my VDO amp gauge and I lost the wiring diagram. What is the easiest way to wire it? Pics please, I am a visual person.

Ammeters measure current as it flows through the meter.
So it's not sampling like a volt meter does, you have to put it in-line with the wire.
For a bug I think the most useful wire to check would be the one between the battery and the voltage reg. This would show you both draw and charge, except what the starter uses.
tbh, a voltmeter is more useful, and you're making the wire from the battery take a loooong detour up to the dash and back.
Be sure to gauge it appropriately.
They make shunt ammeters that allow you to measure at the source then run lower gauge signal wires up to the ammeter.

Be sure to keep your "idiot light" in the dash and connected to the circuit. The gauge will not work without the idiot light in the circuit. _________________ Street legal fiberglass rocket ship
