Is it possible to install the upper aluminum trim strip onto the trim panel covering the spare tire part of the bulkhead without un-riviting the trim panel?

Here's the panel missing the aluminum trim.

It has these holes where the little clip doomaflachey goes through the tarboard.

I have access to reach down.

There's access to the outer two on each side to bent the doomafkachey's little tabs once they are pushed through.

But in the middle there are four that are way down past the hump. Has anyone beem able get down there and bend the taps without removing the panel?

If not, do you have to remove both flat wing panels first before removing the spare tire cover panel?

It can be done.

You'll need these door jamb wedges or the like,

Remove the drink tray platform and pry these in just enough to see down there with a flashlight.

Not too stressful or you'll rip out this rivet.

Get this trim with all the spikes intact.

On the left side bend the first spike so it will clear the wing panel's intact trim.

Start putting it on.

Until it's on all the way on the left curvature.

Keep going across as the holes seem to line up with all factory panels and original trim with spikes.

Untill you get to the right side and uh-oh, now what? Because it's curved you can't go straight in anymore. You have to slide the second spike back to line up with it's hole and point the other one forward while sliding the second one to position as the whole schmeer curve falls into place.

Then quick, bent the spikes on the right side and left side that you can reach.

Now the right and left sides are tight.

But nothing will reach to the middle four as it curves beyond and a straight blade will rip off the rivet: wtf?

I have this thin teak strip for drawing French or random curves.

Using a bright light and the stick you can finesse the spikes to flatten.

And secure them all with a well placed bash.

Ta Da.

I know this is miniscule compared to most thread fixes but maybe someone can benefit from the pictures. I have procrastinated doing this job since I got this bus a loooooong time ago as I didn't want to undo all the factory rivets that hold the wing panels which capture the middle spare tire cover panel keeping it from being removed.
