|
|
Hi y'all. I can't seem to find the info in my manual on taking the dash cover off my '67 squareback. I took off all the screws along the windshield. Now what? Any help would be appreciated. _________________ '67 Beetle

1. Remove all screws under windshield
2. Remove under dash chrome thrim
3. Remove glovebox
4. Remove grab handle
5. Remove all three gauges
6. Very carefully, lift off
I have removed and installed dashpads with the windshield on, but it is a lot easier with the windshield off. You must tilt it really high to pull it off.
hope this helps.

Thanks, that is perfect. All I needed to know for removing.
If I take that off will I get any access to all my dash wires, to 9-pin box,
and headlight switch, etc. or is it a waste of time? _________________ '67 Beetle

The pad is just a cover for the metal dashboard. You get access to all that stuff by going up from underneath, not from on top. |

My manual is wrong then! Thanks for averting a removal disaster. My cover is brittle and I was worried any manipulation would break it into pieces. Back to sitting upside down. _________________ '67 Beetle

Taking the gauges out will help with the switch, but no reason at all to remove the dash pad. _________________ Немає виправдання для війни! Я з Україною.

Removing the dash pad does nothing for accessing the wires. Working upside down is normal for these cars. For the headlight switch, removing the fuel gauge cluster (unplug the black piece from the gauge itself), fusebox, and the light switch, will get you most of the way out from under the dash. As for the 9 pin relay, you'll probably have to work under the dash for that one. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof
