I have just rebuilt a single port engine with 69mm crank and machine in 88's for my bus. I have done a full 12 volt conversion, alternator etc, all new parts only to discover that I have an early crank with no seal. Oversight by me.

Can I machine a late 12 volt flywheel, 'o' ring type to fit?

Yes, you can bore the o-ring flywheel to fit the crank.
