Our Westy is spending the summer in Maine. My daughter is using it for an internship based out of Bremen, Maine. Make sure to wave if you see her.

My van, B.O.B., lived in Harrison, ME for a couple of years with the grand-PO, Ryan (AKA Yukon Yeti), who took "Ginger", B.O.B.'s previous incarnation, for a 3-month, 12,000 mile road trip from Maine to California and back in 2011. Very little rust except the standard kitchen wall rust since most of its life was spent around Raleigh, NC. I hope to make it up to New England at some point in our travels.
B.O.B. in New Mexico
It is really cool to be able to trace your vehicle's life history and for that I am grateful. _________________ 83.5 WBX 2WD Assuan Brown Westy, B.O.B.

+1 on Sullivan Tire (with the right tech). They have the equipment and also offer the lifetime alignment.
We usually stay off the state numbered roads on 4th of July week but the bus camp out sounds like fun.

since there's some interest I'll add a little more.. and will post here once we've figured it out.
we usually bounce around to different campgrounds as we roadtrip, figure why go back once you've left and to see/experience someplace new..
also helps in not having to backtrack or to allow experiencing what each place has to offer..
we tend to avoid private campgrounds and boondocking as it's too uncertain when multiple families are involved.
preferring state & NPS where one can rsvp online and know what and where they have a site#
we avoid the interstates and the general Boston thru Brunswick mayhem.
Question, for you locals up there, with Bar Harbor doing fireworks on 4th of july, would we be able to see them from either Lamoine state park or Schroodic NPS campground? I'm sure Cadillac Mtn would be great but I'd bet that'd be jammed full early that night.
dates at this point are.
thus 6/28 depart Syr after work to Crown Point NY State park
fri 6/29 crown point to Moosebrook NH state park
Sat 6/30 Moosebrook to ??(TBD) Mount Desert Island/Bar Harbor/Acadia
sun 7/1 (TBD) Mount Desert Island and Down East Maine
mon 7/2 (TBD) Mount Desert Island and Down East Maine
tues 7/3 (TBD) Mount Desert Island and Down East Maine
weds 7/4 (TBD)Mount Desert Island and Down East Maine
thur 7/5 (looking at Canal Bridge campground near Fryberg, ME)
fri 7/6 (looking at Canal Bridge campground near Fryberg, ME)
sat 7/7 to Mount Savoy MA state park
sun 7/8 Mount Savoy to Home
for downeast we're looking at rotating thru Lamoine State park, seawell, schoodic, blackwoods, and possibly Camden on our way out.
feel free to PM me any questions or potential interest. I'll chalk yer name in my planner. _________________

Hi Mainers!
I am a Boston based Vanagon owner but frequent Portland almost on a weekendly basis. Any cool Vanagon related events happening up there in the next year?
How about any cool camping spots / hikes / views near that part of Maine? I would love to discover more roads in my Van this coming Spring.
If you see my White Tin-Top, please say hi!
