Currently running a Scat 2 Qt. Sump which comes with thicker bosses on the sides to tap for turbo drain etc.

Looking at upgrading to the Berg 4 Qt. Sump. Is there sufficient wall thickness to tap for a 1/2 NPT fitting or should I just weld on an AN fitting?

Looking at the pics of the Berg sump, there does not appear to be any extra material cast in for tapping holes, like the Scat sump has.

If anyone has pics of their turbo drain on a Berg sump, please post up.

I would just have bung TIG welded on, placed where you want it and move on....

Do you have a universal case with type 3 block off plate? That would be the best oil return, above the oil level.

The front and rear are about 5mm thick and the sides are 8mm.

Too high for most hide a way type headers. And on the wrong side.

I ended up tig welding some bungs on, rather than trying to tap. Worked out great.

The front and rear walls of the sump are much thicker than the sides. They would have tapped fine, but the side was a little thin for 1/2" NPT.
