I have a vanagon i'm planning to convert into a campervan and have rock n roll bed but my trunk is always filled with tools and fluid containers (cooling fluid and oil). How do you people with campervans pack and where do you keep your tools? |

I keep them in a canvas tool bag under my rear facing weekender seat then strap them in to keep from flying around.
If I carried less tools, I would get a smaller canvas tool bag and put it in the empty battery box under the drivers seat.
I seriously need to carry less tools.. |

I repaired mine, so I dont need tools
To be serious: I have a smaller plastic toolbox that just fits under the rear bench seat. But I also plan to get a smaller canvas bag as the plastic takes almost the half of the underseat storage. _________________ Zoltan

The far back cabinet is where I house all my tools (most in a small fishing tackle box) and other various utilitarian things (like a hose, extension cords, leveling blocks, Bentley, etc, etc). _________________ Going to where the grass is bluer...

I keep my sockets, box ends, and rest of tools separated in canvas bags under the driver's seat. I've experimented with many places, and have found this to be the quickest and easiest place to reach in a jam. _________________ '81 Westfalia Subaru EJ22

tools are heavy and should be carried low on the vehicle
I keep mine in a rollup fake canvas tool bag under the rear seat
rollup keeps them from rattling around
to be safe, you will fill another Vanagon with tools, and tow it behind yours - the towed Vanagon serves as a source of spare parts and has adequate space to contain most tools the Vanagon owner needs to carry on any trip |

That's funny!
I keep a small plastic toolbox under the back seat with the beaker bar and a few other things; spare fuel pump and some clamps. _________________ '84 Vanagon GL 1.9 WBX
